Frequently Asked Questions

Creating and Managing Habits

How can I mark a Habit as complete?

To mark a habit as complete, navigate to the View Habits screen and click on the habit. A menu will appear giving you the option to ‘Mark Complete’, ‘View Progress’, ‘Edit’, or ‘Delete’ the habit. After clicking Mark Complete, a confirmation message will appear. If you have already marked the habit as complete today, a message will advise ‘Habit already marked complete today!’ We have also added an easier way: simply tap the Habit in the Home Screen to bring up the mark complete option.

How can I delete a Habit?

To delete a habit, navigate to the View Habits screen, tap on the habit you would like to delete, and select ‘Delete’.

I completed my habit yesterday but forgot to mark it complete. Can I mark previous days as complete?

Absolutely! To do this:

Open the Progress screen for the habit you want to update (View Habits -> Click the Habit -> Click View Progress).

Find the day you want to mark complete on the Completions Calendar.

Click on the day you want to mark complete.

A confirmation window will appear, asking if you'd like to mark that day as complete.

After clicking yes, the day will be marked complete.

Note: You cannot mark a day before the habit's start date as complete.

Streaks and Grace Days

What are Grace Days?

Grace Days allow you to miss a scheduled habit without breaking your streak, but they do not count as a completion and do not increase your streak. This helps you stay consistent even when life gets in the way!

Why Did We Add Grace Days?

Research on habit formation shows that missing a habit once has little impact on long-term success—but missing twice in a row increases the chance of breaking the habit altogether.

By implementing Grace Days, we designed the app to reflect this principle—helping you stay consistent without feeling discouraged by occasional misses.

How do Grace Days work?

A Grace Day prevents your streak from resetting if you miss a habit.

Grace Days do not count as completions—only actual habit completions increase your streak.

You cannot use consecutive Grace Days—this follows the Never Miss Twice Rule, helping you stay on track.

Different habit frequencies have different Grace Day limits:

Daily Habits: Up to 3 Grace Days per month
Weekly Habits: 1 Grace Week per month.
Monthly Habits: 1 Grace Day per year.
Custom Habits: The limit depends on how many days per week you selected for the habit.

How do I use a Grace Day?

Using a Grace Day is simple!

1) Go to the Calendar in the habit’s view progress screen.
2) Select a missed day (a day when you didn’t complete the habit).
3) If a Grace Day is available you will see the option to "Use Grace Day".
4) Tap the button to apply a Grace Day your streak will be protected!

Remember:

You cannot use consecutive Grace Days to maintain the "Never Miss Twice" principle.

If you run out of Grace Days for the period, you will not see the option to apply one.

Tracking Progress

How are the Weekly and Monthly Completion scores calculated?

The Weekly and Monthly Completion scores are calculated based on how many times you completed the habit this week/month compared to how many times the habit is expected to be completed.

Examples:

Completing a habit once per week for a Daily Habit will give a weekly score of 14%.

Completing a habit once this week for a Weekly Habit will give a score of 100%.

For Custom Habits, if a habit is expected to be completed on specific days (e.g., Tuesday and Thursday) and you complete the habit on Tuesday, the Weekly Score will be 50%.

Why is the completion score in my Monthly Report and View Progress different?

The View Progress score shows your progress as it builds up over time, starting at 0% and increasing as you complete your habit. The Monthly Report reflects your overall consistency for the month, starting at 100% and decreasing only when you miss an expected completion date.

Setting Up Reminders

How do I set reminders for my habits?

To set up Habit Reminders:

Navigate to the Settings screen by tapping the gear icon on the Home screen.

Tap on Reminders to open the Reminder Settings view.

Use the toggle switch next to each habit to enable/disable reminders.

Note:With the Premium Version, you have the option of selecting the time for your Habit Reminder notification.

Why didn't my reminder for my habit come today?

There are a few reasons why the reminders for your habit may not appear:

For habits that are not daily habits, (such as Custom, Weekly or Monthly habits) the habit will only appear on the day that it is scheduled to be completed. For example the reminder for a habit that is scheduled for every Tuesday, will only appear on Tuesdays.

The reminder for a habit will only appear if your habit has not already been completed for that day. For example, if the reminder is set for 10AM, and you mark the habit as complete at 8am, then the reminder will not appear.

Note:You are able to toggle reminders for each habit in the Settings page, with the reminders designed to appear on the days that you expect to complete the habit based on your frequency.

By default, these habits are scheduled for 10am at your local time. With Premium, you have the ability to customize the time the reminders are sent for each reminder. E.g, A reminder for 'Exercise' being set for 9am, while a reminder for 'Reading' can be set for 3pm.

Data Management

If I uninstall the app, will I lose all of my data?

Yes, uninstalling the app will delete your habit data. Make sure to export your data before uninstalling if you need to back it up.

How can I export my data as a CSV file?

To export your data, go to the Settings menu and select 'Export to CSV' and the app will generate a CSV file containing your habit history.

Premium Features

I just upgraded to Premium. How can I choose a Color and Category for my existing habits?

To choose a Color and Category for your existing habits, navigate to the View Habits screen, and click on the habit. A menu will appear giving you the option to click ‘Edit’, which will take you to the Edit Screen for the habit. Here you can change the Color and Category for your habit.

By default, the habits that you created before upgrading to premium will be in the 'Other' category.

You can select from the following categories: Health, Educational, Fitness, Social, Personal Growth, Work, Financial and Other.

How can I change the time for my Reminders for my habits?

When setting a new reminder in the Settings screen, if you have the premium version, the app will prompt you to select a time for the reminder for your habit.

To change the time of the reminder. Simply turn the reminder off for that Habit, and turn it back on. You will once again be prompted to select a time for your reminder.

I previously purchased the Premium version, and after reinstalling the app I don't have the premium features anymore.

No worries—just open the app’s Settings screen and tap ‘Restore Purchases’. As long as you’re signed in with the same Google account you used to buy premium originally, it should instantly unlock all your premium features again!

If you still do not see the Premium Features after clicking the ‘Restore Purchases’ button, double-check that you are using the same Google account you used to buy premium with. If the issue still persists, please reach out to us at [email protected] and we will investigate further.
