Momentum Apps Limited (“we,” “our,” or “us”), based in New Zealand, operates the StudyMap - Flashcards mobile application (the “App”). This policy explains how we handle your data as you use our study tools and purchase premium content.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Purchase Information
When you make a one-time purchase in our Shop, the transaction is processed by the Google Play Store. While we do not store your credit card details, we collect technical identifiers to verify and provide your content:
- Purchase tokens and Order IDs.
- Product IDs (e.g., "hsk_level_1_en").
- Verification timestamps via Firebase Installation IDs.
1.2 Usage and Analytics Data
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is performing. This helps us identify which features are popular and where the App might be crashing. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. It includes:
- Device type and Operating System version.
- General geographic location (Country/City level).
- In-app events (e.g., "started_srs_session", "downloaded_deck").
2. Information Stored Locally
The following data is stored locally on your device and is never sent to Momentum Apps Limited or Firebase:
- Flashcard content you create or import (CSV/Excel/JSON).
- Your specific study progress, SRS intervals, and difficulty ratings.
- Your local deck organization and settings.
3. Third-Party Services
To provide purchase verification and analytics, we use the following third-party services. We encourage you to review their privacy practices:
- Google Play Services: Handles payments and app distribution.
Google Privacy & Terms - Firebase (Google): Used for purchase verification and crash reporting.

4. Data Retention and Deletion
Because we do not use an account system, we cannot "delete your account" upon request as no such account exists. To delete your local data: Simply uninstall the App or clear the App's storage in your device settings. Analytics data stored by Firebase is subject to Google’s standard retention policies (typically 14 months).
5. Children’s Privacy
StudyMap is a general audience study tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with information via a purchase or support email, please contact us.
6. New Zealand Privacy Act & GDPR
As a New Zealand-based company, we comply with the Privacy Act 2020. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data based on your consent (for analytics) and the necessity of fulfilling a contract (for purchases).
