Terms of Use
Last updated: April 19, 2026
Welcome to StudyMap - Flashcards (the “App”), provided by Momentum Apps Limited (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a registered company in New Zealand. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Use.
1. User Accounts and Data
StudyMap is designed as an offline-first application.
- No Accounts: We do not require or provide user accounts. Your progress, custom decks, and study history are stored locally on your device.
- User-Generated Content: You may import flashcards via CSV, Excel, or JSON. We claim no ownership over the data you import. Because this data is stored locally, we have no access to your personal flashcards or study metrics.
- Data Loss: Since data is stored locally, deleting the App will result in the loss of your study progress and custom decks unless you have backed up your original import files.
2. Purchases and Pre-made Decks
2.1 One-Time Purchases
While the core features of the App are free to use, we offer professionally curated "Pre-made Decks" for purchase in the Shop. These are one-time purchases processed through the Google Play Store.
2.2 Use of Purchased Content
When you purchase a deck, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive license to use that content for your own learning.
- Prohibited Use: You may not commercially resell purchased decks, nor may you bulk-export and share them with the public.
- Fair Use: Sharing your device with family or friends for reasonable personal use is permitted.
2.3 Restore Purchases
If you switch devices or reinstall the App, you can use the "Restore Purchases" button in the Shop to re-access decks associated with your Google Play account.
3. Payments and Refunds
All payments are handled securely by Google Play Billing. We use Firebase for the verification of purchases and basic app analytics.
Refund Policy: Because we provide detailed previews and sample cards for every deck in the Shop, we generally do not consider refund requests after the standard Google Play refund window has closed. However, we will always respect the refund policies of Google Play and the local consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction.
4. Third-Party Services
We use Firebase (a Google service) to verify purchases and collect anonymous analytics to improve App performance. By using the App, you agree to the processing of data by Google as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Disclaimers and Future Updates
The App is provided “as is.” While pre-made decks are sold for user convenience (to save you time finding or creating your own data), we do not guarantee specific learning outcomes or exam results.
We reserve the right to introduce premium features or update these terms in the future. Significant changes will be reflected in an updated version of this page.
6. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
